Watch An Amazing Boxing Fight: Will Tyson Pummel Paul Tonight?

On Friday, November 15, 2024, Netflix will live stream a boxing bout between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

In the 1980s there was no fighter more revered than Mike Tyson. In 1986 he made history with a TKO over Trevor Berbick in the 2nd round when he then became the youngest World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion at just 20 years old. In 1987 he added the WBA and IBF titles to his championship achievements.

Tyson was intimidating. He had strength, speed, conditioning, timing, and accuracy. If you built the perfect boxing robot, Tyson would have beaten it by KO before the end of the 3rd round. He was elusive and difficult to hit due to his peek-a-boo style boxing, and his punches were explosive. Tyson’s hook was one of the most devasting punches to be delivered in a boxing ring.

Tyson’s reign as heavyweight champion would end in 1990 in an unbelievable upset against Buster Douglas. Tyson has said of the fight that he “needed that fight” to make him a better person and fighter.

Tyson came back hard for two years in an attempt to regain his title as heavyweight champion. Before he was able to challenge Evander Holyfield, Tyson was arrested and convicted of rape. Tyson served less than 3 years. 

After his release Tyson regained the title of WBC heavyweight champion against Frank Bruno in 1996. He then added the WBA championship after a first-round win against Bruce Seldon. In November of 1996 Tyson lost the championship to Evander Holyfield.  

Jake Paul is a YouTuber that has had 11 exhibition matches against various washed-up boxers and MMA fighters. He has a 10-1 record with 7 wins by knockout.  

Mike Tyson is 58 years old, and Jake Paul is 27 years old. With a 31-year age gap, Paul is the favorite to win. If there is any good left in the world, Tyson will knock out Jake Paul resulting in Paul never boxing again.  

No matter the results, this is going to be an event watched by millions of people. As a child of the 80s, I can’t wait to see Iron Mike in the ring one last time.
