A Garland, Texas man running from the cops got tased while crossing busy Highway 30 on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say they received a call about 2 suspicious shoppers at a Kohls department store. Two men tried to make off with nearly $2,000 worth of clothing. One of the men was arrested in the store, while the other took off in a pick-up truck. The driver of the pick-up made the mistake of going the wrong way down the President George Bush Turnpike, escalating the situation into a much larger police chase.

The driver of the pick-up was identified as Clinton Lang, Jr. During the police chase Lang jumped out of his truck and decided to try to run across the busy lanes of traffic along I-30 Westbound. This is when pursuing officers tased Lang and he fell down just missing the passing vehicles zooming along the 3 lane highway.

A Texas Department of Safety Helicopter assisted in the chase. The officer who tased Lang did not want to comment to the media until an investigation is conducted into the use of force.
