Police Stop Overnight Burglary at Shoemaker High School in Killeen
Killeen Police interrupted a burglary overnight at Shoemaker High School in Killeen.
Our news partners at KWTX are reporting police responded to the burglary at about 3:30am overnight. Three of the suspects fled from the school on foot through a field, while another individual sped off in a car.
Officers deployed spikes at the Stan Schlueter loop and stopped the suspect fleeing in the vehicle. Inside the get-a-way car officials reported finding Killeen ISD laptops along with other tech devices.
Police say none of the individuals who fled on foot have been found as of 8am Friday. Officers said the suspects had stuffed the laptops into school trash cans and smuggled them out of the building as police arrived. At this time, no one is sure how the suspects gained access into the school overnight.
