A Catholic priest in New Jersey was arrested last week after police say he pointed a gun at an 8-year-old boy because he's a Dallas Cowboys Fan.

54-year-old Kevin Carter, a priest at St Margaret of Cortona Roman Catholic church in Little Ferry, NJ, was arrested Friday on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault by pointing a firearm.

Carter allegedly called the boy into the rectory of the church on Sunday, September 13. Once the two were alone, Carter pointed an antique but functional Civil War-era musket at the child and said, "I'm going to shoot you."

A parishioner who supposedly witnessed the incident said Carter was unhappy that the boy was supporting the Giant's divisional rivals the Cowboys in a game later that day. The witness reported the incident to the Newark Archdiocese on September 25, and they contacted the local prosecutor's office on the 28th.

Carter was still in jail Friday on $15,000 bail.
