Romaine Lettuce Causes E. coli Outbreak in Several States

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are warning the public to keep an eye out for products containing romaine lettuce.

E. coli sickness has spread to 11 states in recent days due to lettuce that is growing in the Yuma, Arizona area. The has caused a number of voluntary recalls for products that contain romaine lettuce, along with some confusion about what products actually contain lettuce grown in the Yuma area.

The CDC says 22 individuals have been hospitalized since March 22nd with some of those individuals developing a type of kidney failure associated with E. coli.

Walmart has released a list of products that could contain lettuce from the Arizona region, but there is not yet a clear report of the exact source of the outbreak.
