Selena Inducted as First Latina into Houston Rodeo Hall of Fame
The late Queen of Tejano music, Selena Quintanilla-Perez was honored Sunday by being inducted into the Houston Rodeo Hall of Fame.
According to Click2Houston, Selena was inducted into the Star Trail of Fame at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo. Selena's last performance was just 25 years ago at the rodeo in February of 1995, where she set an all-time attendance record.
Selena is the 9th person to be inducted into the Star Trail of Fame, her brother A.B. Quintanilla, and sister, Suzette Quintanilla accepted the ceremonial plaque in her honor.
Despite her tragic death, Selena lives on through her everlasting legacy for many. Just recently Mac Cosmetics announced they would be releasing a second make-up line to honor her iconic music and life. Plus, just last weekend Stripes convenience stores also honored Selena by selling special release Selena cups.
