Starburst Is Texas’ Favorite Halloween Candy According to Candystore.Com

Maybe it's because I'm a chocohalic, but I was surprised to see that one of America's biggest candy distributors has ranked Starburst the #1 Halloween candy in Texas.
Candystore.com used 10 years of bulk sales data to compile a list of each state's three favorite Halloween treats. According to their findings, nearly 2 million pounds of Starburst candies are consumed in Texas during trick-or-treat season.
I guess I shouldn't be so shocked. Starbursts are pocket-friendly, individually wrapped, come in a variety of flavors, and, most importantly, they don't melt as easily in the Texas heat.
But Texas hasn't forsaken chocolate. Reese's peanut butter cups, which ranked #1 in Texas on Candy Store's 2016 list, came in at #2 this year.
The #3-ranked candy actually surprised me far more than Starburst coming in at #1. Believe it or not, Almond Joy ranked third! Don't get me wrong; I love Almond Joy, but I don't know many other people who do. I guess I should get out more.
Did your favorite candy make the list? If not, what's your favorite and why should it be in the top 3? Let us know in the comments!
