Temple Hit and Run Being Investigated

Your help is needed as one of our residents was killed Monday in a hit and run.

Temple Police reported Tuesday afternoon that they're investigating a hit and run accident that cost a man his life.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. Monday. Temple Police responded approximately 9:21 p.m. to a call of a person who had been struck by a vehicle. 54 year-old Mario Arriaga was found laying in the roadway in the 1500 block of Scott Boulevard.

The vehicle had fled the scene and the police were unable to gather any information on said vehicle or it's driver.

Mr. Arriaga later succumbed to his injuries at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. An autopsy has been ordered.

The Temple Police Department Accident Reconstruction team is investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
