A Central Texas man is in custody for a horrific crime he allegedly committed 10 months ago.

KWTX's Christopher Shadrock reports that Terrance Deal, 28, of Hubbard has been charged with the murder of a man in Italy, Texas on July 13, 2018.

Police say they long ago suspected Deal of gunning down Richard Earl Wilson, whose remains were discovered in his Italy home. Detectives were able to obtain a warrant for Deal's arrest after an inmate told them Deal admitted his involvement in Wilson's death.

Deal turned himself in Monday, May 13, 2019 - exactly 10 months to the day since Wilson's murder.

Online records indicated Deal remained in the Ellis County Jail Tuesday afternoon in lieu of $1 million. He's charged with capital murder.

Suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
