Terrible Texas Teen Arrested After Snap Video Shows Her Stealing From Dead Man

Did no one teach this girl about curses and hauntings?

According to a report from KSAT, 17-year-old Bethany Martin and her 16-year-old friend were walking along the intersection of Sunday Song and Charismatic in San Antonio, when they discovered a dead man's body.

FOX 29 reports that Martin and her friend were walking to the convenience store when they discovered the man hanging from a drainage ditch railing. The girls decided to call a friend about their discovery, and a third female arrived at the scene shortly after.

The last teen to arrive called 911 and reported the death.

BCSO officials stated that the man had discoloration throughout his body and believe that he hung himself.

A day later, deputies received two videos of the teenagers at the scene from an anonymous source. The first video depicts the teens recording the body while the man is still hanging. The second video shows Martin removing a chain and medallion from the victim's neck. Again, he is still hanging from the draining ditch railing.

Investigators recognized the teens as their eyewitnesses, and brought them back in for questioning. When interviewing Martin, she told deputies that she did in fact remove the chain and pendant from the deceased, because her friend "liked it." Martin told police that she threw the chain into the grass, and gifted the pendant to her friend.

Seriously?

Next, police interviewed the second eyewitness who admitted to recording and posting the videos to Snapchat. The 16-year-old also corroborated Martin's version of events, and stated that she did in fact want the pendant. When asked why, the girl stated that it, “matched her fashion style.”

Police were able to recover the pendant and it was then given to the victim's next of kin. Martin was charged with theft to a human corpse or grave and booked into the Bexar County Jail on a $2,000 bond. The 16-year-old was also charged with charged with theft to a human corpse or grave, but has not been named.

Literally, the level of disrespect in this story is disgusting.
