A Texas Man Is Trying To Sue Walmart For $100 Million
One individual from the state of Texas has alleged two major reasons for bringing a lawsuit to Walmart. Here's what we know so far.
Details Of The Lawsuit
According to 5News, Roderick Jackson from the Lone Star State has filed the lawsuits against Walmart. 5News reports that the lawsuits were filed due to Jackson's experience at a Walmart in Omaha, Nebraska. According to one of the two complaints, as reported by 5News, Jackson alleges a "false pretense of shoplifting," which is claimed to have happened in 2021, at the previously mentioned shopping center.
Another complaint accuses "civil rights violations based on race/color" at the same Walmart in Nebraska. Both of the complaints were sent to Fayetteville, where the United States District Attorney's Office for the Western District of Arkansas is stationed.
What Roderick Jackson Is Seeking In Damages
5News reports that Jackson is looking for reparations' via two suggestions named in the objections. He is requesting either "unlimited free lifetime shopping at any Walmart," or $100 million dollars. 5News also received a comment from Walmart:
"We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. We are aware of Mr. Jackson’s complaint and intend to defend the company against the allegations once we have been served."
5News also made an attempt to talk to Roderick Jackson, however their request for comment was unanswered when they called.
As this is a developing story, we will have more information if it becomes available.
