Texas Ranked One of the Least Aggressive States Against COVID-19
A new report ranks Texas as one of the least aggressive states in the fight against COVID-19.
According to a report from WalletHub, Texas ranked number 49 in a list of the most aggressive states against COVID-19. Number 49, come on y'all, we have to do better. The only states listed after Texas are Mississippi and Wyoming.
The report is based on limiting exposure to the virus and is calculated on three main components:
- Prevention and containment
- Risk factors and infrastructure
- Economic impact
Each state was graded on a 100 point scale, with 100 being the highest score achievable. Texas reflected a 30-35 score interval.
Based on the report, Texas is also the state with the highest population without health insurance coverage. Texas also ranked in at number 48 for the lowest total public health emergency preparedness funding per capita.
