Let me just put this up front, I am a fan, advocate, proponent, supporter, and completely on board with medicinal marijuana and/or medical tetrahydrocannabinol, aka THC, products that are properly regulated and prescribed by authorized medical personnel. I also, have no real issue with recreational marijuana, and placing personal responsibility on the consumer with safeguards in place to protect the general public from abuse.

If you read the bill and actually understand what is being proposed, Texas Senate Bill 3 will expand the medical marijuana program to be the largest in the country, and add even more medical conditions that are authorized for medical THC treatment.

What it will also do is completely wipe out any loopholes for low dose THC products that can be purchased over the "smoke shop" counter, and therefore prevent people from self medicating or overdosing.
