Honestly, where was a teacher like this when I was in school?! Dig the note:

After much research this summer, I am trying something new. Homework will only consist of work that your student did not finish during the school day. There will be no formally assigned homework this year.

I would've aced her class. That's because we ate dinner as a family, worshipped together, did everything this teacher called on parents to do. The reason we did was not because a teacher told us to do it. It's because we were a family, and my parents took their roles in raising their children very seriously.

According to WGN, the teacher is Mrs. Brandy Young and she lives in Fort Worth.

As you might imagine, students are rejoicing. The teacher has to be fairly happy she won't be spending her time grading papers of people who couldn't care less.

It's actually kind of embarrassing for grown adults to have to be told this. We know, however, that families' lives are more chaotic if a child's parents are lower on the socio-economic scale. Not giving homework still doesn't address the problem. Still, it's pretty dammed bold and takes away excuses the lazy parents may have.

Have a happy and productive school year!
