Texas Wonder Ranks as One of the Most Beautiful Sights in the World
Did you know that one of the most beautiful sights in the world is just a couple of hours south?
As beautiful as the San Antonio River Walk is, I was surprised to learn that it placed in the top 20 of The World's Most Beautiful Sights in a recent study. Not because it isn't a beautiful place, but because on a global level, I wouldn't have thought it would have done so well.
The World's Most Beautiful Sights
The European travel company Kuoni just released the results of their study of The World's Most Beautiful Sights and a Texas favorite did pretty well placing at #16 on the list. The San Antonio River Walk finished alongside some iconic "beautiful sights" like Central Park in New York, which finished at #1,
The Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy, which finished 2nd,
Or the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris in Paris, France, which finished 5th.
The San Antonio River Walk
Finishing at #16 on the list is pretty respectable. The study looked through more than 452,000 TripAdvisor reviews and based their results on how many "sights" were rated as "beautiful."
The River Walk had 6,028 "beautiful" mentions in reviews. By way of comparison, New York City's Central Park had 22,880 mentions.
Other American sights to make the top 20 were Las Vegas' Fountains of Bellagio, which placed 3rd, the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle, Washington, which finished at #10 and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA at #15.
