Tomorrow (3/20) is Extraterrestrial Abduction Day. Yes, it's a thing. It's a thing that has me wondering about UFO sightings in Texas. You know, just in case I need to be ready to "celebrate" tomorrow.

So far in 2021 we've had 20 UFO sightings in Texas, according to the National UFO Reporting Center. Luckily, the closest they've gotten to us is Lubbock.

That doesn't mean we're without our own brushes with unexplained things running amuck in the sky. When you search "Amarillo" on the National UFO Reporting Center's website, you come up with 47 matches.

We've definitely had our own fair share of "encounters."

The origins of the holiday are more mysterious than the "holiday" itself. I dug on every website I could find about it, and no one has a real solid answer. Some say it has always been (doubtful), others claim it coincides with a festival that was held in Toronto.

Either way, tomorrow is a day set aside for those who watch the skies for that little something extra.

When you go to YouTube to look for footage of UFOs in Amarillo, you get a pretty mixed bag of results.

You will find videos that make you think to yourself, "My, that was strange." You'll also find videos that claim there is something to be seen, but the amateur filmmaker was unable to get the "thing" in question in the shot.

Some are just downright hilarious. You can find our collection of Amarillo UFO videos by following this link to our article.

Whether you believe the truth is out there or not (X-Files fans, looking at you), keep an eye on the sky tomorrow.
