The topic of shark attacks has brought up due to recent events in South Padre Island. Thankfully, while injuries were sustained, no loss of life occurred. But it may worry some in the Lone Star State that are planning to go to a beach soon.

The good news is that according to data from Business Insider, getting harmed by a shark is very unlikely. Per the data, there is a one in 3.75 million chance that an individual is assaulted and their life taken by the animal. But over time, individuals have sadly lost their life to shark attacks.
