US 105 & Cefco Remind Listeners of Memorial Day Ceremony at Killeen Civic & Conference Center
US 105 and Cefco hope you've got fun plans for Memorial Day Weekend! Let US 105 provide the New Country music, and when your on the go this weekend don't forget to make it Cefco!
This weekend US 105 will be cranking the best New Country for central Texas, and stopping in Killeen and Copperas Cove to showcase some fun events going on for the holiday weekend!
Cefco has got ya covered from gasoline to food and snacks. Everything you need while your enjoying the holiday weekend on the go! When you visit Cefco, be sure to ask about how you can win a summer fuel gift card!
Most importantly, let's not forget to pay our respects on Memorial Day. Many central Texans head for the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery to pay their respects on Memorial Day, but this year the services will be relocated to the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.
Renovations have been slowed down by some of the spring storms in Bell County, so we will all gather at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center to take part in the ceremony usually held at the cemetery. There will be a smaller service at the cemetery for families who have loved ones laid to rest there starting at 8am on May 29th.
The larger service at the Civic and Conference Center will begin at 10am on May 29th. The gathering will feature a presentation of colors by the Fort Hood Honor Detail and National Anthem. Opening prayers and welcome by Killeen City Mayor Spencer Smith, Guest speaker MG John Uberti, Deputy Commanding General, III Corps and Fort Hood will be the guest speaker. A laying of wreaths along with a 21-gun salute will also be part of the ceremony. Joe Wolf will sing American the Beautiful and the ceremony will wrap up with a benediction by Richard O-Rourke, M.S.C.
Special thanks to the Friends of the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery and VFW Bob Gray Post 9192 for assisting with the program.
