US105's Free Ticket Friday rolls on with your chance to win tickets to see Jimmie Allen at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth on Thursday, June 16.

Jimmie Allen is a perfect example of persistence and never giving up on a dream. He moved to Nashville and found himself living in his car off and on 'til he was able to get his own place.

Jimmie also auditioned for both "America's Got Talent" and "American Idol", and was eliminated on both but never gave up on his dream.

His debut single, "Best Shot", came out in early 2018 and would be the second most added single the week of its release. He was signed to a record deal and released his debut album, Mercury Lane, in October 2018.

That single would go on to be a Number One hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in November 2018, making him the first black artist to have a debut single reach the top of that chart.

His follow up single, "Make Me Want To", would also go on to be a Number One hit as well.

Jimmie Allen would also become the first black solo artist to win the ACM Award for "Male Artist of the Year" in 2021 where he also performed with Brad Paisley on "Freedom Was a Highway." Check out that monument.
