>Eight days ago, I wrote about a shootout at the Killeen Mall between law enforcement and a suspected drunk driver. The shootout occurred after the driver drove his car through the front of the JC Penny. I was able to confirm that four people had been injured, but there hadn't been any information about the victims released at the time.

It has been released that the four people injured were members of the Moreno Family (Lesmes Sr, Jacqueline, Lesyalie, and her 6 year old daughter Shameris), and they need help. While Lesmes Sr has been released from the hospital the other three awaiting surgery and rehabilitation. Information on how to donate can be found at there GoFundMe here: Fundraiser for Joariel Matta by Mackenzie Moreno : Aid the Moreno Family's Road to Recovery

From there GoFundMe:
"On December 21st, The Moreno Family was involved in a tragic event at the Killeen Mall. Lesmes Sr, Jacqueline, Lesyalie, and her 6 year old daughter Shameris were shopping for Christmas when a drunk driver involved in a police chase, drove into the front of JCPenney, striking the Moreno family at checkout. The driver was then involved in a shootout with law enforcement where he was eventually killed. Lesmes Sr was treated at the hospital and released, however, Jacqueline, Lesyalie, and Shameris remain in the hospital awaiting surgeries and rehabilitation. Jacqueline suffered a hip fracture and broken ankle. Shameris suffered a broken rib, ankle as well as internal bruising that’s affecting her oxygen levels. Lesyalie suffered multiple fractures on her face as well as pelvic separation. Lesyalie remains in ICU awaiting multiple surgeries and a long road of rehabilitation.

Any contribution, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated by The Moreno Family and will make a significant difference in their lives over the upcoming year as they navigate through not only the physical healing, but mental as well. They will be using these funds to replace loss wages, any medical equipment needed, rehab, etc.

The Moreno Family has always been the light in a dark world. They never meet a stranger and strive to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. I hope this donation will help them feel the love and comfort they show to others daily. We thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity. Your funds will be sent to Joariel Matta, who is the husband of Lesyalie, father to Shameris and son in law to Jacqueline."

13 Country Stars Who Sang for Jimmy Carter or Visited Him at the White House

Jimmy Carter wasn't known was the "Rock 'n' Roll President" for nothing: He embraced popular music like few other U.S. presidents have done, and that connection opened him up to a whole generation of young voters. But Carter's love for music — and specifically, his love of country music — was more than just a political move. He embraced the genre throughout his life, and it loved him right back. Here are a list of country stars who performed at Jimmy Carter's White House or at major campaign events in support of him.
