Waco Closes Bars & Restaurants Due to COVID-19
The City of Waco has followed the lead of other major cities and is asking restaurants and bars to close their doors to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
According to our news partners at KWTX, the city of Waco has declared a local state of disaster and public health emergency. Bars and restaurants in the area have been ordered to stop dine-in services and will now only offer take-out and drive through services.
City of Waco Councilman Hector Sabido shared the news and emphasized that public safety is priority right now. The order went into effect at midnight on March 17. Any gatherings of 50 or more people have also been banned. The city is asking that any non-essential events with more than 10 people be canceled or postponed to help eliminate the spread of COVID-19.
Saint Patrick's Day certainly will not be the same without green beer, but we need to flatten the curve. Let's get through this together- at a safe social distance, of course.
