Would You Like a Side of Fries with That Garbage Can?
A video that has gone viral online shows a Paris, Texas Whataburger manager taking out the trash. Literally. According to police (and the video of the incident), a customer who assaulted Whataburger employees was swiftly dealt with by the restaurant’s manager in the form of a garbage can.
The Police Report
According to WFAA, Paris Police officers were called to the Paris, Texas Whataburger Sunday due to a customer who was being verbally abusive towards the staff. The man was asked to leave by the manager, but before he left, he threatened to return after the police were gone.
Round Two
According to police, 41-year-old Anthony William Newhuis of Spring, Texas returned to the restaurant and punched the manager multiple times. The manager responded in kind with the help of a garabage can. It was at this point that a customer began filming the incident. The manager was able to force Newhuis out of the restaurant.
Round Three
When police returned to the Whataburger a second time, they found Newhuis bleeding from the head in the restaurant's parking lot. According to WFAA, Newhuis was arrested and charged with assault resulting in bodily injury and public intoxication. It didn’t end there. Police say after Newhuis was taken to jail, he intentionally flooded the cells, which added a criminal mischief charge to his growing list of charges.
