Lonely Is The Night: Where Are The Loneliest Cities In Texas?
All of us at one point in life just want to be alone sometimes. Whether it be just to be have our time to ourselves, or we're just tired of dealing with others. But for some of us, living alone is a daily fact of life.
Data collected has shown that living alone has grown steadily over time. According to Chamber of Commerce, the data reveals that 29% of dwellings in the country are single person housing. But we're not looking at just data for the entire country.
We're here for the more important data right here in the state of Texas. How many of us are lone cowboys and cowgirls? Thankfully for us, Chamber of Commerce also has that data readily available for us.
Are Any Texas Cities On The List?
With the data collected, two Texas cities made the list. And surprisingly, it's not ones you're expecting. Checking in at 25 in the top 30 was Austin, Texas, following by Dallas at 28.
Honestly, with how quickly Austin has grown in the past few years, it's surprising to say the least that it made the list. Dallas is also one of those we didn't expect to pop up on the list, and yet it made it.
Also found in the data collected was Irving, Texas ended up having the most increase of living alone during the pandemic years, coming in second, losing to Cape Coral, Florida. Laredo, Austin, and Pasadena also made appearances on the previously mentioned list.
