🔥 Texas Wildfires: A Look at Last Year's Devastating Numbers
Central Texas is dry. Burn bans are often put in place to help prevent the accidental ignition of a wildfire. In 2024 there were a total of 5,187 which resulted in the destruction of over 1.3 million acres. This information is based off of reports made to the Texas A&M Forest Service, so the actual number of wildfires and land destroyed is likely higher.

📍 Burn Ban Status: County-by-County Breakdown in Central Texas
At this time, burn bans are not in effect in Bell, Mclennan, Coryell, or Falls counties. Burn bans are in effect in Willamson County, Burnet County, and Travis County.
🍔 Grilling Guidelines: What You Need to Know During a Burn Ban
Most likely you will still be able to grill during a ban even though most counties have strict policies against using firepits during a burn ban. It's always safest to operate a gas grill, however, if you are going to grill with a wood or coal burning grill it is required to be operated on a concrete base.

Rain is forecasted this week in Williamson County and Travis County, so we can expect to see the burn ban lifted soon after. Before igniting any fires you should check the Texas A&M Forest Service website to ensure that your county is not currently under a burn ban.
