Just when you think you've seen the best of the best, BOOM! somebody comes along and takes it to a whole other level.

Long gone are the days when you order a cake and all you get is the basic setup your grandparents and great-grandparents made. Now, a cake can literally be an artistic expression that makes cutting into it almost a crime.

Creative cake baking has gotten more popular over the last several years, with shows like Cake Boss, Cake Wars, Ace of Cakes, and more. Natalie Sideserf has been a part of the baking explosion. She's had a show on the Food Network called "Texas Cake House" with her husband Dave and made guest appearances on several other shows.

Sideserf is also the creator of the world's first #SelfieCake:

Who is Natalie Sideserf?

Natalie Sideserf specializes in hyperealistic cakes. As the name implies, these are cakes so detailed it's hard to tell the difference between what's real and what's cake. Sideserf has a studio in Austin, Texas called Sideserf Cake Studio.

So how did she get into this line of cakes? Sideserf tells the Texas Standard:

“After I graduated from Ohio State with a fine art degree, a friend of mine asked me to make a sculpted cake. And since I was in art, I kind of gave it a shot and I realized how cool it was and how much opportunity there was to really push the idea of realism in cakes.”

And realistic it is. Sideserf has her own YouTube channel called Sideserf Cake Studio, where she shows you how she makes her realistic cakes.

You have to see her work for yourself. Check out her YouTube channel and you'll be asking yourself, "Is it real or is it cake?" Whatever it is, it looks delicious.

Texas has plenty of strange rules and regulations that you could technically be prosecuted for if you violate them, since they've never been amended. Some of these are only for specific cities and not state-wide, but all of them are pretty odd!

Let's take a look at 10 of the weirdest ones in the Lone Star State.
