10 Signs You’re an Older Sibling

Can you relate to any of these things on the list below? If so, you might be an older sibling!

-YOUR PARENTS WERE WAY MORE STRICT ON YOU THAN YOUR SIBLINGS

When I was a little kid, my parents closely monitored all the tv shows and movies that I watched. (Care Bears didn't even make the cut!) However with each kid they had, the limits became alot less strict. By the time my little sister was 11, she was watching Laguna Beach and The Hills on the reg.

-YOU CONVINCED YOUR YOUNGER BROTHER OR SISTER THAT THEY WERE ADOPTED AT LEAST ONCE DURING CHILDHOOD

I did this once with my brother. Except I told him that I was the one adopted. (Idk why I went that route.) And he still cried his sweet little eyes out.

-YOU ALWAYS FORCED YOUR YOUNGER SIBLINGS TO PLAY WHAT YOU WANTED PLAY

When I was 9, my brother was always forced to be my guest on the "Danielle Show". From dressing up as Aladdin to singing and dancing to Yankee Doodle on camera, I made him do it all.

-WHO NEEDS A BABYSITTER? YOU WERE THE BUILT IN NANNY ON DATE NIGHT

The night usually included at least one "Guys, I'm in charge! Okay?!"

-YOU THINK OF YOURSELF AS THE SECOND PARENT 

Whether it's helping with homework or college applications, or getting up in arms over school drama, you are always worrying over your little brother/ sister.

-YOUR SIBLINGS BENEFITED FROM YOUR AWKWARD STAGE

When I was in the 7th grade, I was convinced that I knew exactly how Jr High kids were supposed to dress and fix their hair. When I realized how terrible I looked in retrospect, I demanded that my little sister listen to my mom's advice! Unlike me, she did, and never looked like a little weirdo with a slicked back ponytail and keds.

-YOUR YOUNGER SIBLINGS ARE NOW THE ONES WHO TELL YOU WHAT'S COOL

Remember when your siblings used to copy your style? Now the tables are turned, and they are the ones keeping you in the loop, telling you which bands and clothes are cool.

-NO ONE IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOUR YOUNGER SIBLING

AS FAR AS YOUR CONCERNED, YOUR LITTLE BROTHER OR SISTER IS THE BEST AT EVERYTHING

True story. In 5th grade I once punched a boy in the stomach because he joked my brother wasn't good at baseball. He's wasn't just good. He was the best. No one will ever cheer as good or be as pretty as my little sister. And my brother does no wrong.
