Bartlett, Texas is one of my favorite towns to drive through in Central Texas because when I am taking the backroads from Temple to Austin, it is the halfway point to Georgetown. It is also usually where I decide whether or not to head back towards Interstate 35 and get on the toll road, or continue to enjoy the Sunday drive scenery by continuing south on Texas Highway 93.

People on the coasts like to joke about Texas being flyover country because what could possibly ever happen in Middle America. Well, before you get unnecessarily angry with the coasters, how often do we drive through small towns like Bartlett, with barely more than a pause at the major intersection's flashing light before continuing about our day completely unaware of the awesomeness towns like this can offer?

What other TV series and movies have used Bartlett as a filming location?

A good portion of the second season of the NBC series Revolution filmed throughout the Bartlett and Granger area. Texas's most famous filmmaker Richard Linklater used the town for shooting his Western crime movie The Newton Boys.

Why is Bartlett so popular for TV and movie scenes?

In the early part of the 20th century, Bartlett was a very affluent railroad town, so there were several high dollar and well made buildings that still stand to this day featuring turn of the century architecture.

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson wants Texas to expand its film presence.

Plenty of Hollywood heavy hitters like Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Dennis Quaid, Renee Zellweger, and Richard Linklater would love to see the entertainment industry shift their home from California to Texas in the same manner so many Fortune 500 companies have.

Are there any additional upcoming TV shows or movies planning to shoot in Bartlett?

I am not currently aware of any, but I do like to refer to Bartlett as Bordertown because it sits on the county line between Bell and Williamson, so I think that makes it ideal for a future filming location in the event there is ever a Borderlands 2.

With Taylor Sheridan living in Texas and enjoying filming here so much, it would not surprise me to see another production roll into town soon.
