Governor Abbott Announces his Fourth Campaign for Texas Governor 

On Sunday, Governor Abbott announced his plans to run for Texas Governor a fourth time. According to the Texas Tribune, the announcement in front of a large crowd in Houston said the bid for re-election was an effort to keep Texas conservative. 

Texas Governor Greg Abbott Wants to Keep Texas Red 

The Governor wants to keep conservative ideology in the state of Texas, saying, “Texas is not just another state — it’s our home. Our heritage. As Texans, we will defend this state with every fiber of our being. We will protect what we built, finish what we started and lead Texas into its glorious future.” 

 


 


 

The Texas Governor Gives an Overview of is Accomplishments in Office 

While speaking to the crowd, the Governor mentioned his efforts to lower taxes in the state, the passage of private school vouchers, strengthening the southern border, and tougher bail requirements. The Governor said, “What we have in Texas is precious. But it can all be destroyed in one bad election.” The Governor said Democrats are bought and paid for by liberal billionaires and if they are elected in Texas, would “crush your economy, destroy your jobs, and increase your taxes.” 

Governor Abbott Looks to Texas’ Future 

During his speech, the Governor said further action needs to be taken to reign in taxes in Texas. The Governor said he believed that Texans should have the option of voting to abolish school property taxes and he also believes that any property tax increase should require a two-thirds vote of approval by citizens of the state. The Governor said “Tonight, we have a message for Democrats and their socialist backers: This is Texas. We will defend our culture, and we will safeguard our Texas values, from the radicals who are trying to shove our state to the left.”
