Avride Refutes Everything In Austin Delivery Robot Lawsuit Update
Recently, a lawsuit was brought forth against Avride in Austin. According to the suit, a biker in the city was allegedly harmed by one of the company's delivery robots. Now, in an update, Avride has responded to the legal action.
What Are The Details Of The Case?
As reported by KXAN last week, a cyclist in the city of Austin was purportedly harmed by one of Avride's delivery robots. The lawsuit said the following:
“At that time, a delivery robot owned by [Avride] began crossing the intersection … resulting in a collision between the Plaintiff and the robot of the Defendant...As a result of the collision, Plaintiff sustained serious, personal injuries.”

Now, the company had responded with the following statement, which was revealed by KXAN:
“[Avride] deny generally and specifically each and all of the allegations contained in [the lawsuit] and demands strict proof thereof...Plaintiff’s negligence was a proximate cause of the occurrence in question.”

However, more things have occurred about if this case will go to trial or not.
Has The Lawsuit Been Updated? And Will The Case Go To Trial?
According to KXAN, both sides agreed that a jury trial is what they wish to have, but at the time of writing it is unknown if, or at all, it will actually be brought to a courtroom. The Plaintiff also has amended his complaint saying "the delivery robot failed to yield the right of way to the plaintiff and that it entered an intersection at an unsafe time."
In addition to that, the plaintiff also contributed more to the lawsuit itself with this statement:
“In each the audience learns that is it the heroic, last remaining humans who have a duty to stand up to the robots while they still can. It is with this admonition in mind that Plaintiff brings this lawsuit against Defendant."
