The City of Belton's Parks & Recreation Department has rescheduled the year's first Movie in the Park and the city-wide service project One Community One Day due to rain chances this weekend.

The city's free screening of Finding Nemo has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 16. The movie will play at 7:30 p.m. at 333 Water Street, just behind city hall and along Nolan Creek. Park officials are encouraging families to bring lawn chairs and blankets to make themselves at home, but want to remind citizens that alcohol is prohibited in Belton parks.

The community-wide service project One Community One Day will now take place on  Saturday, April 25. The project, organized by Belton's Youth Advisory Committee, provides help to members of the community who are unable to do home repairs, yard work, painting, and other home maintenance tasks. Volunteers will be divided into groups and assist at select homes. Anyone interested in helping out can find more information on the Parks & Rec website.
