(Belton, Texas) - Police have released the identity of a man whose body was found near I-35 in Belton late last week.

Paul Romer, Director of Communications for the City of Belton, reports that the body of a 57-year-old man was found Friday, August 18 near the shoulder of the southbound I-35 frontage road just south of Mesquite Rd around 2:10 PM.

What Happened?

According to Romer, a passerby found the body and phoned police. Detectives found no obvious signs of foul play, but the body has been sent to undergo autopsy and an investigation into the man's death is ongoing.

 

Who Was This Man?

In a news release issued Monday afternoon, Romer identified the man as David Dwayne Craig of Killeen. Romer did not release further details.
