Pizza is a universal language. Just about everywhere you go in the world, you'll find a place that serves this beautifully delicious pie, and Texas is no exception.

I'm a firm believer that it's impossible to pick one pizza place as the best, but that doesn't stop anyone from doing it, including Readers Digest.

Best Pizza

Go ahead - pick your favorite pizza place. After a few minutes you'll probably be second guessing your decision as you remember that one place you went that one time with your buddies and their pizza hit the spot. Or even that time you took the family out for dinner and had such a great time that you decided that was the best pizza you'd ever had.

My point is that there are all kinds of pizzas and all kinds of topping combos making it next to impossible to pick "The Best". For the record, pineapple on pizza is a no-go for me! :)

Best Local Pizza

Sorry to break it to you but the pizza that was picked for "Best in Texas" was not from a place here in Temple or Killeen. That doesn't mean there isn't some great pizzas here locally cause there certainly is. Trino's, Fire Street Pizza and Wings, Pizza and Things are a few of my favs!

Best Pizza in Texas

As for Readers Digest's pick, they chose Big Lou’s Pizza in San Antonio. RD used Trip Advisor to determine every states best pizza place so it really was based on customer reviews. Big Lou's Pizza has a 62 inch pie that just goes to show that everything really is bigger in Texas.

100 pounds of pizza, The Big Lou 62.

I'm sold. Next time I'm in San Antonio, Big Lou's will be my first stop!
