Central Texas Girl Stuns Doctors As Her Inoperable Brain Tumor Miraculously Disappears
What a beautiful Christmas gift for this family and community this holiday season.
A young girl out of Hays County got her Christmas wish granted as her inoperable brain tumor suddenly disappeared without any explanation.
This past June, 11-year-old Roxli Doss was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, or DIPG. This disease is a very rare and devastating one, as there is no known cure. According to Dr. Virginia Harrod with Dell Children’s Medical Center, the disease can cause "decreased ability to swallow, sometimes vision loss, decreased ability to talk, eventually difficulty with breathing."
The family started radiation treatments, even though they knew there was no cure. However, earlier this month, scans showed that Roxli's brain tumor was simply gone.
"When I first saw Roxli's MRI scan, it was actually unbelievable," Dr Harrod told KVUE. "The tumor is undetectable on the MRI scan, which is really unusual."
She went on to explain that her scans were confirmed by four other doctors to rule out a misdiagnosis, and all concluded that the tumor is, in fact, gone.
Her parents are shocked and thrilled, saying that this is the miracle that they had prayed for.
“We didn't know how long she would be healthy and, look at her, she's just doing awesome,” said Scott Doss.
Congratulations to the Doss family! 'Tis the season for miracles, and this certainly appears to be one.
