Love is in the air, or maybe that's just allergies. Either way, Texas is one of the best places to be this Valentine's Day.

According to a report from WalletHub, Austin, TX made the top 10 list of places to spend Valentine's Day.

Lucky for us in Central Texas, Austin is just a hop away. The folks at WalletHub compared 100 of the most populated cities in the nation on safety, weather forecast, gift accessibility, and budget & activities.

We're experiencing what I would say might be the best weather of the year. It's not too hot and sticky, and definitely not that cold! While we haven't made it to Spring, our current weather probably reflects what other parts of the country would deem as Spring.

In Texas, Spring is just the pre-heating mode for Summer.

If you don't have a special someone at this exact moment, don't worry. Statistics show that overall online dating activity increases across the US between February 1 and February 14 by 33%.

While this year looks vastly different than those before it, there are still ways to celebrate while staying safe.

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Order To-Go from your favorite local restaurant
  • Go on a walk or hike
  • Pack a picnic and visit a park
  • Create your own wine or beer tasting
  • Go fishing
  • Create your own couples spa day
  • Paint a picture together
  • Enjoy some arts & crafts

Personally, I'll be spending Valentine's day at  #20 on the list, Denver, CO! I absolutely love vacationing in Denver, and while 2021 just began, I definitely need a vacation. I have a few first time visitors joining me on this trip, so my days are sure to be filled with adventure. While it may be "Spring" weather here in Texas, Colorado is experiencing a real winter so we'll be able to partake in some activities that involve snow. Super exciting.

Remember though, its not about the amount of money you spend, it's about the memories and love you share with your partner. Happy Valentine's Day!
