Belton, Texas is a very unique place that remains that way because people take the time to care about its future, and also step up consistently to ensure the beauty of the area remains for those enjoying the area today and future Belton residents too. There are not a lot of small towns left in the Texas Triangle that are so cozily nestled between two amazing bodies of water like Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow Lake.

One of the best places to visit in Belton is Chalk Ridge Falls especially along the trails just east of the Stillhouse Hollow Dam where the Lampasas river continues east. My family really loves visiting Chalk Ridge Falls because of the well maintained trails that are tree lined to provide essential shade for outdoor enthusiasts to continue dwelling one with nature, even when the hot summer sunshine is trying to literally knock us out.

Recently, the last couple months of May have been a bit taxing on Central Texans because of severe weather. We are still recovering from the two tornadoes that blew through right before Memorial Day last year, and then we got slammed by another severe storm this year on the night of Memorial Day.
