Championship Steer Sells for $200,000 at Fort Worth Stock Show
A 17-year-old high school senior from Texline, Texas made $200,000 Saturday when Ross Perot Jr. bought his prize steer at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
KVII-TV reports that Ben Bezner's 1,329-pound European crossbred steer Mufasa was purchased by Perot Jr.'s Hillwood Properties during the Sale of Champions. The sale is $40,000 less than last year's champion steer brought in, but still a very nice chunk of change!
Bezner said he plans to put the money toward studying ag business at their Texas Tech or Texas A&M.
It just goes to show how rewarding being involved in student agriculture can be - something most Texas kids know well.
