Congress on Sunday reached what appears to be a final deal on a $1 trillion dollar economic relief package that includes a $900 billion COVID-19 relief bill.

The Associated Press reports that the coronavirus relief bill calls for direct $600 stimulus checks for many Americans and $300 per week supplemental unemployment assistance. .

CNBC reports that this bill also includes $600 payments per child, as well as $248 billion set aside for small business loans, $20 billion for small business grants, and $15 billion to help live event venues negatively impacted by the ongoing pandemic.

According to ABC News, money is also being allocated for schools, hospitals, and vaccine distribution.

The bipartisan agreement will be voted upon Monday, and is expected to get the president's signature.

A bill to fund the federal government through September 30, 2021 is part of the overall deal.

This is the first comprehensive relief package passed by Congress since March. I'm sure most people will be relieved to receive a stimulus check, though many were expecting to see a higher amount. In fact, there are already trending memes mocking the $600 payments and how out of touch Congress appears to be while many Americans are struggling financially.
