Valentine's day is quickly approaching, and if you are like me most of the time you forget to plan ahead resulting in a last-minute gift idea. You know that you could give a more thoughtful and meaningful gift even though your significant other will at least pretend to like whatever you got them.

I've racked my brain to come up with five unique, inexpensive, and impressive gifts that you can give your loved one if you start working on it right now. I'm not trying to rush you, but you really need to step it up. Especially after what happened last year.

A Walk Through the Clouds

Take some time to write down a bunch of meaningful memories on some index cards that the two of you have made together. Get as many party balloons filled with helium that you need to tape all of those memories to and attach them to strings. Let the balloons float around the living room, and she'll be able to pull them down, read the cards, and be reminded of all the specials events from your past that stick out in your memory.

Go Old School with Photos

We rarely take the time to get physical copies of our pictures anymore, and sometimes it's nice to have a photo that you can put on your desk and not just your desktop. Find a few of your favorite pics and print them out. Get a frame or even a cute picture album to put them in, and I guarantee her heart will melt.

Bring the Spa Home

A trip to the day spa isn't necessarily in everyone's budget, but that doesn't mean that you can't give her a relaxing atmosphere at home. Find a nice bath bomb, ask Alexa to play some Enya, and light a few candles. Tell her that when she's done you got some massage oil ready and waiting for her.

Write a Love Letter

A valentine's day card is a nice gesture, but there isn't really any thought put into it. Instead, grab a pen and a piece of paper, and write your beloved a letter letting them know how much they mean to you. When then ink from the pen puts all of the reasons why you love them onto the paper it will make a much bigger impact than a greeting card you picked up from the store.

Skip the Restaurant and Become the Chef

You probably know where her favorite place to eat out is at, but getting a reservation on Valentine's Day isn't always the easiest. Well, grab an apron, and a good recipe off of google. She is going to love the fact that you put in the effort to make her favorite food even if you aren't a professional chef!
