UPDATE: Officials now say two of Frankie's siblings have tested positive for methamphetamine, indicating that they were recently in direct contact with the drug. They were placed in foster care soon after Frankie's body was discovered.

As Waco seeks justice for the senseless death of Frankie Gonzales, another person involved has been identified.

According to a report from our news partners at KWTX, Lorenzo Gonzales, the father of 2-year-old Frankie Gonzales, was recently arrested and charged in connection of the death of his son.

Lorenzo had a signed agreement with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services that stated he would not leave his three children unsupervised with their mother, Laura Sanchez,  “due to risk of harm to the children.”

Sanchez had proven previously with her six older children, that she was not capable of providing adequate care. Sanchez lost custody of her older children long ago, and Frankie's closest siblings have been placed in foster care since his death.

Police believe that if Lorenzo had not left Frankie alone with Sanchez, he would still be alive. Lorenzo is currently being held without bond on an immigration detainer.
