Former Baylor Players Coaching HS Team With Art Briles
I bet you didn't know that former Baylor Bears head coach Art Briles took a team to the SuperBowl last year.
It's true since being dismissed by Baylor in 2016 the 63-year-old has been offered a handful of coaching jobs around the world and took Estra Guelfi of the Italian Football League to the SuperBowl Italiano in 2018.
The most successful coach in Baylor history has returned to the lone star state as the head coach and athletic director of Mount Vernon High School. A small school with less than 500 students.
Wherever Briles has coached he's brought a little Baylor with him and Mount Vernon is no different. Rissa Shaw of KWTX reports that five of Briles former players are part of the coaching staff which was cleared out well before Briles's arrival.
Patrick Colbert, Davion Hall, Jayson Clements, Brad Willard, and Lynx Hawthorne all former Bears are ready to win games and teach for MVISD.
With all these old college Bears now coaching the high school Tigers, the logical next move is to go to the professional Lions.
