Former City of Killeen finance director Barbara Gonzales has filed a lawsuit against the city under the Texas Whistleblower Act.

Gonzales was terminated in December of 2012 following a two month investigation of Killeen’s Fleet Services Division. The lawsuit she’s filed alleges that her termination was the result of having reported unlawful spending by city officials- including City Manager Glenn Morrison - to police.

Gonzales’ seeks to be reinstated or compensated for lack of reinstatement, as well as damages between $200,000 and $1 million. Gonzales was employed by the City of Killeen for 13 years, 5 of which she spent as finance director.
