Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc, And Bowling For Soup To Headline Freedom Fest At Fort Cavazos, Texas
For the second year in a row Killeen, Belton, Cove, Temple, Harker Heights, and other area Central Texas communities will be able to enjoy Freedom Fest a little earlier than the 4th of July, and with this line up, I am here for it!
Memorial Day Weekend was just 2 weeks ago, so it might not feel like we should already be talking about 4th of July. However, next Friday night, June 23rd will kick off the Independence Holiday events for our area.
Organizers have done an excellent job of finding family friendly acts that will entertain all afternoon until the fireworks begin at 9:30 PM. Also, by having the event before July, it allows workers to enjoy the actual holiday weekend with their families, and to check out other celebrations.
Headliner: Vanilla Ice
Vanilla Ice was born in Dallas, and is known for hits like Ice Ice Baby and Ninja Rap featured in the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.
Over that last decade, Vanilla Ice has become a reality TV star on DIY Network. He has even acted in movies including a couple Adam Sandler films.
Vanilla Ice is scheduled to perform last before the fireworks at 9:30.
Support Act - Tone Loc:
Another hip-hop artists turned actor, Tone Loc will also be performing at Freedom Fest.
His big hits include Funky Cold Medina and Wild Thing.
