
Georgetown TX Homicide: Roommate Killed, Sheriff Investigating
Early this morning on Friday, February 28th, 2025, 9-1-1 operators received a phone call from someone in Williamson County claiming to have killed their roommate. Dispatch routed the call to the Williamson County Sheriff's Department, and the sheriff's department is now investigating a homicide just outside of Georgetown.
The police are waiting to inform the next of kin before the identities of the suspect or victim are released to the public. There is one person in custody at this time.
The investigation is ongoing, so there is still much unknown. The police responded to the 911 call and are investigating the incident at the 100 block of Jennifer Circle in Georgetown. Law enforcement has not released any information on what happened to cause the incident. They also haven't said whether or not the roommates were in a romantic relationship or not.
From 2023 to 2024 the city of Georgetown experienced a 40% increase in aggravated assaults. Violent crime went up in Texas 3.5% with Houston being the most dangerous city in the state. Despite the increase in violent crime in Georgetown it is still in the top ten safest cities in Texas.
