Named after the Alamo’s original name – the mission San Antonio de Valero – Valero corner stores is one of the largest companies headquartered in San Antonio. But that didn’t keep them from having some hometown traditions. A beloved one was after each San Antonio Spurs playoff win you could get a free cup of coffee the next morning. But that came to an end this year. Canadian giant Circle K became the owner of the brand in June 2017, and kept the tradition for one season, but decided to pull the plug during this playoff push.

So fellow local superstore H-E-B decided to step in and save the day. The following is part of a statement from the market’s website “Starting immediately, customers can score any size cup of joe for free the morning after each game when the Silver and Black rack up a playoff win. The free-coffee promotion is available from 7-10 a.m. at San Antonio-area H-E-B stores and convenience stores that offer coffee by the cup.”

Hopefully, tomorrow will be the first day of the promotion.
