Hutto, Texas is a thriving bedroom community just northeast of Austin proper, and has tons of well maintained, quiet neighborhoods like you would often see pictured on Christmas cards where the family is gathered next to the oak tree in front of their homes. Even though many of the neighborhoods are newer, they still have that All-American Dream vibe of the 1950s with rows of starter homes and young families playing in their front yards.

According to this KVUE article, Hutto's Chief of Police, Jeffrey Yarbrough, released a statement that around 10 AM yesterday morning there was a shooting, and three bodies were discovered in a home on the 200 block of Seaholm Lane, which is just north of Hutto Elementary School. Information is limited, and the police department plans to hold a press conference today.

The above picture is of the 200 block of Seaholm Lane, and it looks a lot like the neighborhood my family lives. The block has now changed forever with news of a double murder, and then a suicide by the suspected killer happening right next door.

Neighbors tend to keep to their self a little more these days versus due to the amount of business the average family has happening. We are often coming and going so much that we do not spend a lot of time just visiting with our neighbors, but no matter how tight nit a neighborhood is or is not, an event like this will have an impact for a long time.
