Escalating Conflict Leads to Reckless Assault with a Vehicle
Ruiz had gotten into a fight with a woman outside of a bar, and the woman's boyfriend attempted to break up the fight. At that point Ruiz got into his car and drove away. Ruiz left the area with a complete and total disregard for the safety of everyone around unfortunately for the woman he fought, her friend, and three other people.
Five Victims Injured in Joe Ruiz's Hit-and-Run
In total, Ruiz ran over 5 people. The woman and her friend were transported to the hospital with injuries including a broken nose to one woman and abrasions to the other woman's scalp.

️ Swift Justice: Ruiz Found Guilty After Two-Day Trial
Ruiz was tried in the county of Brazos and found guilty by a jury of his peers after trial that lasted only two days. His sentencing hearing was scheduled for May 8th; however, Ruiz agreed to the maximum punishment before the trial even began.
⚖️ Maximum Punishment Deemed "Well Deserved" by DA
A statement released by the District Attorney's Office said that because of the violent and reckless nature of the crime the maximum punishment was well deserved.
