Kids In Pflugerville To Be Issued Tickets And Ice Cream For Being Safe
The Pflugerville Police Department is hitting the streets this summer and is ready to issue some tickets to some of the kiddos out of school. But they aren't looking for anyone to spend "hard time" no, no, they are giving out ice cream certificates.
It's all part of the summer safety campaign ‘Cool Moves’ that will run until August 31st. When officers see children practicing safety they will hand out a ticket with an ice coupon attached.
Here's a list of examples of 'cool moves' according to the Pflugerville police department website.
- Wearing a helmet while riding a bike, scooter, skateboard or rollerblades
- Crossing at a crosswalk
- Obeying traffic laws and using correct hand signals while riding a
- bike
- Stopping at the curb to look both ways before crossing the street
The coupons will be redeemable at the following location Dairy Queen, Menchiels, Baskin Robbins, McDonald's, Zaxby's, Andy's, and Cece's. No Whataburger?! What the heck! this is Texas?!?
I think this is great, but I didn't see anything about the kids breaking the rules getting a chunk of coal or anything, and isn't that what Christmas is all about??
