Killeen police need the public’s help in identifying a man who attempted to rob a restaurant last fall.

On October 14, officers were called to the Golden Coral at 1420 E. Central Texas Expressway after receiving a call about a suspicious individual. When they arrived, they were told that a man came into the restaurant and waited until there were no customers near the cash register. He then approached the cashier and demanded that the employee open the register. When the clerk yelled for help, the man fled the store.

The suspect, pictured in surveillance footage above, is described as white with short black hair, approximately 5’8” tall, and weighing around 200 pounds. He was wearing dark clothes, white shoes, a white ball cap, and sunglasses. The cashier told police he also had black tape wrapped around each of his fingertips.

Anyone with information on this robbery or who can identify the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477), go online at www.bellcountycrimestoppers.com, or text BELLCO along with their tip to 274637.
