Law Changes In Texas From Tobacco Age To Brass Knuckles
June was a busy month for Governor Greg Abbott. It seemed like every other day he was signing a bill. Many of the law changes will go into effect on September 1st.
KSAT12 came out with a list of some of the more notable laws. There are a couple that are hard to believe weren't legal before. Such as kids will be allowed to sell lemonade or other non-alcoholic beverages without a permit. You will also be allowed to carry self-defense weapons such as brass knuckles and kat keychains at the start of the month.
Some laws are much more serious, such as HB 8 where sexual assault kits will be analyzed within 90 days of receiving any evidence.
The minimum age for tobacco sales will change from 18 to 21. And you must be at least 18 to purchase couch syrups containing dextromethorphan.
Since June, Abbott has been a little quiet. Will we get a round two? I just want nunchucks to be legal.
