Full disclosure - I spend way too much time on YouTube.

It doesn't help that part of my job involves combing through social media for interesting and informative things to share with our audience, and when I see that my favorite channels have released new videos, it's a one-way ticket to Distraction City.

One of my absolute favorite channels is LegalEagle, on which attorney James Stone grades movies and TV shows on their legal accuracy.

He's reviewed beloved classics like My Cousin Vinny, Seinfeld, A Time to Kill, and even two hysterical and absurd episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. (Though I don't know how qualified he is to grade anyone's knowledge of bird law.)

(Note: It's not all fun and games. Stone also posts serious reviews of real legal issues.)

Rather than just criticize, Stone offers a great deal of information that's informative and, I would argue, valuable to anyone who may someday find him or herself in court. Our legal system is complicated to say the least, and TV and movies really aren't the best way to get a feel for how it works.

When I saw that Stone had published a new video today (July 10, 2019), I was pleasantly surprised to see that he wasn't reviewing a movie, but had instead decided to break down recent important rulings by the United States Supreme Court.

Now more than ever, it's incredibly important that we know how the SCOTUS is ruling and how that will impact our lives, because no matter who you are or where you live in this big, beautiful country of ours, those decisions do affect you and your family.

So, if you're looking for an easy-to-digest guide to what the SCOTUS has been up to so far in 2019, give this video a watch. I think Stone once again does a fantastic job of explaining legal issues clearly and with emphasis on why they should matter to you.
